You can't love God without loving people; you can't love people without loving God
1 Corinthians 13 - love chapter
For great marriage / relationship
- Make a covenant commitment
- Celebrate differences
- Work on communication
- Feed the romance
- Put Jesus at the center
Most important words in relationship: And then what happened? / Tell me more about that.
Only God's way works
Psalm 127:1 - Only God builds
Let the one who designed them define them
Malachi 2 - God no longer accepts your offering because God is your witness - so be on guard and do not be unfaithful
Covenant is based on mutual commitment
Contract is based on mutual distrust
Covenant surrenders rights and assumes responsibility
Contract protects rights and shirks responsibility
Covenant has interest of other in mind
Contract has personal interest in mind
Best: two servants in love. Worst: two masters in love.
Love is not a feeling; it is a choice.
Put on love; because it's not on you yet. Choices lead, feelings follow.
