Pursuit = effort to secure/attain something or quest

Unstoppable quest

Samuel to Saul after Saul worshipped without Samuel

1 Samuel 13:14 - Lord sought a man who is after God

Sought = strive for or desire + After = pursuing

Acts 13:22 - David - a man after my own heart

Following God’s direction

God’s greatest desire is to be close to his kids

Isaiah 40:11

He will tend his flock like a shepherd;

   he will gather the lambs in his arms;

he will carry them in his bosom,

   and gently lead those that are with young.

1. Father’s heart is loving
1. John 3:15 - For God so LOVED the world
2. 1 John 3:1
3. There is nothing that we can do that could make God not love us
2. Father’s heart is giving
1. John 3:16 - he GAVE His only Son
2. Matthew 7:11 - how much more would God give to those who ask
3. Father’s heart is searching
1. John 3:16 - whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life
2. Matthew 18:12-14 - shepherd looks for the ONE LOST sheep

PURSUIT (of God's heart begins at his feet)

Luke 10:38-42 - story of Mary and Martha - Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken from her (business v listen to God at his feet)

• Mary was at his feet
• One thing that was needed was simple heart that desires to follow after God
• Martha was busy doing all other things
• Only one thing was needed
• Serve God or serve self

(think of your father on a deathbed; do you think he wants you to clean his room and do other chores or for you to be at his bedside)

1. Listen to God’s voice
1. John 10:4-5 - sheep follow because they know shepherd’s voice
1. Gentle Whisper
2. We Listen to God’s voice through:
1. WORD
2. WORSHIP
1. Create consistent environment of worship around you
3. PRAYER
1. Talk to God v Talk with God
2. Tabernacle Prayer
4. RELATIONSHIPS
1. Join Groups
2. It is not good for man to be alone
2. Serve God by serving others
1. John 13:4-5
1. You have so much potential - you can serve someone now - discover your gifts, purpose - it will change your life
2. 1 Peter 4:10 - we have gift to serve others
3. Choose daily to surrender your life to God
1. Luke 9:23 - must deny himself, take up cross
2. To become more like God - only when we are at unstoppable pursuit

Jesus answers our prayers - what if we answer Jesus’ prayer

John 17:20-23 - all may be “one” - Jesus’ prayer

Ephesians 6:12 - our struggle is against rulers, spiritual forces of evil - our enemy is the devil - not fellow man

1 Cor 1:10 - real harmony - united in one mind and one thought - one purpose - one enemy

1. One enemy
2. One heart
3. One purpose

Ephesians 4:3 - make every effort

1. Choose to belong (sign up for membership) (become a real member) (friendship)
2. Learn to share
1. All believers met constantly and shared homes (shared lives)
2. Share experiences
3. Share problems
3. Do my part
1. Contribute to the whole of the team
4. Be devoted like family

One prayer - Father, make us One

(((For too long, I have been living like a victim with unstoppable complaints. I must live like a son of the king. I am his inheritance, king-like high priest.)))
