Offended and hurt - how to deal with it

1. Do not blow up - do not take revenge but leave room for God - discover beauty in others
2. Do not gossip - gossip from Hebrew means murmuring and complaining (like Israelites talking about Moses in Exodus) - did not enter promised land
3. When we minimize offense, it diminishes or cheapens forgiveness - pains are impactful, face it honestly - let Jesus purify those toxins and bitterness
4. Realize it affects my relationship with God - God reciprocates my judgments and standards and grace and mercy - my evils and goodness - sometimes we are holding onto past or what we are occupied with that we cannot receive what God is trying to give me
5. Time does not heal everything - not biblical - acknowledge God is our doctor and medicine - God is faithful, we should be faithful
6. Pray - meditate - Jesus prayed not to change what is outside but to change himself - to face what is to come faithfully - do not give the devil foothold, guard your mind body and spirit by prayer (foothold is a comfortable or advantageous position)

7. Deal with the root - rejection / denial - devil says listen, God is hiding the ball with you, so lead to doubt and isolation
